Housing-Related Data & Mapping in New York City
The workshop will discuss a variety of data sources that are relevant to housing and community development in New York City, how they can be accessed and used for community assessments, planning and evaluation, and how they can bedownloaded, converted, and manipulated for analysis. Data sources include INFOSHARE, Census, HUD’s Picture of Subsidized Households, NYC’s Real Property Assessment Data, the Housing & Vacancy Survey and the American Housing Survey. Participants will also become acquainted with examples of mapping, database, and statistical software such as ArcView, Excel, Access and SPSS are used as.
