Dear Gov. Pataki,

	I am affiliated with _________(name of group)_______________________, a
neighborhood preservation company in _____(city/town)__________, NY.  I am
writing to urge you to use the 30-day amendment period to restore funds to
the Neighborhood Preservation Program (NPP) in your proposed executive
budget in order to adequately fund the program and to withdraw your request
for a re-structuring of the NPP, a program you have personally hailed as
successful and unique in revitalizing neighborhoods throughout the state.

	With funding from the NPP, my organization has been able to  (fill-in
information about your services and accomplishments).

	We know the sate is facing a serious financial crisis.  Please don't
sacrifice our affordable housing initiatives by trying to balance the budget
by cutting funds to this program.  And, let us work together to strengthen
and update the NPP with community input and a sound plan for real change.
Please withdraw your Article 7 language that implements change to a 20-year
old highly successful program.  In these difficult times, we need strength,
leadership, and continuity, not the chaos that will result from the current
re-structuring plan.
