Lead-Based Paint Hazard Control Grant Program

The Lead-Based Paint Hazard Control Grant Program assists States, Indian Tribes and local governments in undertaking programs for the identification and control of lead-based paint hazards in eligible privately owned housing units for rental and owner-occupants in partnership with faith-based and other community-based organizations. HUD is interested in promoting lead hazard control approaches that result in the reduction of this health threat for the maximum number of low-income families with children under six, for the longest period of time, and that demonstrate techniques which are cost-effective, efficient, and replicable elsewhere. Activities eligible for grant funding include:

Target Population:

Children and families at risk of lead poisoning.
