Emergency Home Repair Program for the Elderly (RESTORE)

RESTORE funds may be used to pay for the cost of emergency repairs to eliminate hazardous conditions in homes owned by the elderly when the homeowners cannot afford to make the repairs in a timely fashion.  In response to publicly-issued Notice of Funding Availability, nonprofits and municipalities submit program designs that include how they would select eligible recipients, monitor construction, and insure compliance with program requirements.

Target Population:

To be eligible for assistance, homeowners must be 60 years of age or older and have a household income that does not exceed 80 % of the area median income.

HTFC expects to make $400,000 of RESTORE funds available to fund program applications submitted under UF 2002. Maximum award is limited to $30,000, with a maximum grant of $5,000 per building.
