Legislative Member Item Program (MIP)

The Legislative Member Item Program (MIP), administered by the Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR), is funded by the New York State Legislature to provide awards to recipients selected by the members of the New York Senate and Assembly. Recipients of awards may be nonprofit organizations, municipalities, or other entities that are engaged in housing, community development, community renewal, preservation or promotion activities. Program funds may be used for a broad range of activities, including planning, administration and capital costs and are to be used exclusively for the purpose designated by the Legislative Finance Committee. These activities are generally designed to promote low- and moderate-income housing to preserve neighborhoods, and improve the quality of neighborhood life.

Funds for planning, administration, or capital costs of housing and community development activities 

Target Population:

Low and moderate-income residents of neighborhoods in New York State.

Funding Available:

Awards may be $15,000 and under, as covered by a Voucher Agreement or $15,001 - $20,000, as covered by a Contract Award.
